Sitting Buddha with Jaali Work in Tigereye (SF-13725)

A South-African treasure, Tigereye boasts a charismatic character with its amber and brown bands. The colours react with light in varying ways, making the character of the stone all the more dynamic. The mining of the stone is done in an area that is infamous for being a lion territory, making the procuring of the stone all the more precarious. In this carving, Buddha is seen in a classic pose with His left hand on the lap and the right hand pointing to the ground. This pose represents Buddha’s moment of enlightenment. The accomplished kaarigar has enhanced the greatness of this moment by adding an ornate jaali behind the figure of Buddha. The character of the Tigereye adds a natural glow to the Buddha’s face and body, thereby actualizing the ultimate moment of enlightenment in this creation.

Care for product
Gemstones are known to withstand the harshest of environments. In order to further ensure that every generation experiences the true luster of your Ma Passion creation, we recommend our connoisseurs to carefully clean the carving with a wet cotton ball once a year. In order to further bring out the polish, one can dip some cotton in a thin oil, run it through the carving, leave the oil overnight, and then proceed to remove the remaining oil with a wet cotton on the next day. This process can also be done annually.
