Radhakrishnaji in Rhodochrosite.(ISF-2918)

Made from one of the only gemstones available in Japan, this carving is the rarest of the rare creations in Ma Passion’s collection. The origin and creation of this piece comes with a captivating story: on one of our many walks around the Pueblo Gem and Mineral Show in Tucson, we found a Japanese gentleman in his 60s sitting in a small tent. Not a rough dealer, the gentleman had one exquisite pendant on display with a glassy pink stone at its center. We were surprised to learn that it was Rhodochrosite since it did not show the classic characteristics of the stone. He informed us that he found the stone being sold on the streets of some of the remotest areas of North Japan. The local inhabitants happened to find these stones while they were foraging for other materials in the mountains. On asking the gentleman if he had any rough of the stone, he entrusted us with a few pieces of the Rhodochrosite whilst telling us that it is impossible to find this stone in large quantities. An absolutely enigmatic gem from a faraway land got into the hands of our master kaarigar from Rajasthan and a true collectible of a lifetime was created – one that celebrates the eternal love of Radha and Krishna.

Care for product
Gemstones are known to withstand the harshest of environments. In order to further ensure that every generation experiences the true luster of your Ma Passion creation, we recommend our connoisseurs to carefully clean the carving with a wet cotton ball once a year. In order to further bring out the polish, one can dip some cotton in a thin oil, run it through the carving, leave the oil overnight, and then proceed to remove the remaining oil with a wet cotton on the next day. This process can also be done annually.
